FIREFIGHTERS ENDORSE MIKE ENG FOR STATE SENATE

EL MONTE, CA — Organizations representing local firefighters and paramedics throughout the state announced their support of Democrat Mike Eng for the open 22nd State Senate District. California Professional Firefighters (CPF), CAL FIRE Local 2881, Los Angeles County Firefighters Local 1014, West Covina Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 3226, Arcadia Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 3430, Monterey Park Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 1014, San Gabriel Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 2197 and the Alhambra Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 1578 all endorsed Eng after evaluating all the candidates.

“Mike is committed to ensuring our communities here in the San Gabriel Valley are safe,” said L.A. County Firefighters Local 1014 President, Dave Gillotte, “we know he will be a champion for firefighters, paramedics and the people they protect, and that is why he has our endorsement.”

“I am impressed with Mike’s record and his level of insight into the challenges facing our firefighters, paramedics, and public safety in general,” remarked Lou Paulson, President of the California Professional Firefighters. “Mike is the candidate we want in the State Senate, helping us keep our communities safe and standing up for the for the resources we need to do so." Mike’s campaign for State Senate has gathered a huge amount of momentum lately with major endorsements from organizations including the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, the California Democratic Party, and the vast majority of local elected officials from communities within the 22nd State Senate District. All of the best-known District leaders – including incumbent Senator Ed Hernandez, Supervisors Hilda Solis and Kathryn Barger, Congressmembers Judy Chu and Grace Napolitano and Assemblymember Ed Chau – are supporting Mike.

Mike Eng previously served in the State Assembly, on the L.A. Community College District Board of Trustees, and on the Monterey Park City Council.
